Technical outdoor equipment / Website design

Built for conditions.
Chosen with understanding.

An outdoor storefront that brings technical product information, layer selection and shopping into one experience.

We treated product education as part of the catalogue, giving visitors a way to explore how equipment choices work together.

DESIGN FOCUS
Product education and catalogue interaction
01 / THE CHALLENGE

Technical detail needs
a frame of reference.

A specification matters when a person can relate it to the conditions they expect to face.

Outdoor products can carry a dense vocabulary of layers, materials and performance attributes. The website needed to retain that depth while making the range approachable.

We built a five-page structure spanning the shop, brand story, technology and contact. Product browsing is supported by explanations of the equipment and an interactive layer configuration.

02 / THE STRUCTURE

Explain the equipment.
Explore the system.

Product education sits alongside shopping, so technical information has a role beyond filling out a specification table.

01 / Story

Give the range a context.

Introduce the outdoor identity and the thinking behind the equipment.

02 / Technology

Explain the construction.

Give materials and technical features a dedicated place in the experience.

03 / Configuration

Explore a system.

Let visitors change layer selections and inspect the resulting indicators.

04 / Shop

Carry the choice forward.

Connect search and categories to an editable, persistent basket.

03 / THE LAYER CONFIGURATOR

One layer changes
the whole arrangement.

We used a configurator to make product relationships visible. Selecting or removing a component updates the displayed indicators, so the interface responds to the equipment currently in view.

The key is that the selection and its derived values stay connected. The configurator is an explanatory interaction: its illustrative metrics show the effect of choices without presenting them as laboratory-tested performance.

04 / FROM READING TO SELECTING

The shop should remember
what the visitor has decided.

A visitor may read about technology before returning to the range. Search and category controls provide a route back to products, while the basket keeps earlier selections available.

We connected item quantities, removal and totals in a locally saved basket. The interface can be explored across pages without treating each page as a separate shopping session.

05 / THE DELIVERY

A technical brand
with a usable storefront.

The result brings the detail of equipment design into the browsing experience, supported by working selection and basket behaviour.

INFORMATION

Room for the explanation.

Technology and story pages support product discovery without overloading every card.

CONFIGURATION

A visible relationship.

Layer controls and derived indicators make the selected combination explicit.

SHOPPING

Continuity across pages.

Catalogue search and a persistent basket connect education with selection.

DELIVERED SCOPE

Five-page outdoor retail website with technical content, a layer configurator, catalogue controls and a persistent local basket.
