What We Were Solving
The founders had validated demand through 80 pre-registered landlords but had no technical co-founder and had burned 35K GBP on a failed outsourced build that produced an unusable prototype. They needed a production-ready MVP within 8 weeks to meet investor milestone commitments and begin generating revenue before their seed funding runway expired. The product needed to differentiate on speed, simplicity and mobile experience, as competitor products were bloated enterprise tools that small landlords found intimidating.
Our Strategic Approach
We designed and built a focused MVP prioritising the three features landlords valued most in pre-registration surveys: portfolio overview with financial summary, tenant communication, and maintenance request tracking. The interface was designed mobile-first for landlords who manage properties alongside day jobs. Performance was treated as a feature, achieving a 94 Lighthouse score ensuring fast load times on mobile networks. We implemented Stripe billing from day one so the startup could begin charging immediately. A feedback mechanism built into the product captures feature requests to inform the roadmap.
